DR CHRISTOPHER WHITELEY

CONSULTANT CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

Christopher qualified as a clinical psychologist from University College London. Christopher has worked with individuals, families and groups in diverse London communities the full spectrum of mental health presentations. He has also worked within the university and medico-legal sectors, central government policy and on employee assistance programmes.

Christopher specialises in the application of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) to mental health and wellbeing. Christopher a clinical associate with Pink Therapy, the UK’s largest independent therapy organisation working with gender, sexuality and relationship diversity clients. He is an Associate Fellow with the British Psychological Society (BPS), and an accredited cognitive behaviour therapist, supervisor and trainer with the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).

Matthew obtained a PhD in psychology from the University of Cambridge, and a professional doctorate in clinical psychology from University College London. An experienced medico-legal expert and private medical insurance (PMI) healthcare provider, Matthew is skilled in working for Employee Assistance Programmes (EPA)s, re-insurance and fitness-for-work.

He is nationally recognised as an expert in working cross-culturally with clients and their families. As the academic lead for the clinical psychology training programme at the University of East London, Matthew brings additional skills in supervision and consultation.
